Une folie cette auto de pure intégriste, non ?
Qu'en pensez-vous ?
Grinnall S-IV:
Deliveries of the Scorpion IV commenced in September 2005, following several months of final testing.
Protracted power-train supply problems following the merger of the European manufacturing interests of GM and FIAT led us to look elsewhere. We took advantage of the hiatus to completely re-engineer the car for a new and better drive-train.
The final production version of the new car is powered by the Audi 1.8 litre, 4-cylinder, 5-valve, 6-speed drive train, either supplied direct from Audi, or re-manufactured. Power output figures are as follows: Using the standard turbo, the motor produces 225 - 265bhp. Cosworth Technology, our engineering support partners, have re-calibrated the motor, and a more powerful version is now available that increases the output to well over 300bhp. The vehicle weighs approximately 680Kg, power to weight figures of 500bhp per tonne are possible.
Performance is absolutely stunning. We have been testing the machine for several months prior to sales. Handling is totally predictable, with no hint of 'lift-off-oversteer', so often a problem with mid / rear engine cars.
Estimated performance are (for a tuned engine 265bhp/270lb-ft) and weighing 760Kg car (including fuel and driver) expect to achieve 0-60mph in 3.7sec, 0-100mph in 7.9sec and 30-70mph in 2.7sec. The midrange acceleration should be mind blowing: 40-80mph in 3rd in 3.1sec 40-100mph in 4th in 6.8sec. That's competitive with a McLaren F1 at 3.4sec and 6.7sec. Nothing else comes close!
The Scorpion IV is priced from £26,950
